Powder skiing on Private land preserves that land by creating an income with very low impacts instead of more traditional income sources such as logging or development. By creating income on raw land we may prevent the development and logging of this land, and show to the economic world that raw land has great value.
At Pacific Crest Snowcats and the parent company Swayback Inc.
we
strive to be a positive force in the community and for the planet.
We have instituted policies to protect the air, water, and soils that make
up our terrain. These policies are far stricter and limiting than the local
agencies require.
At Pacific Crest Snowcats we utilize Bio-diesel, a clean burning and renewable resource and serve organic foods to further promote these technologies. These technologies cost more but preserve and protect the health of the planet and workers who produce these foods and fuels. We recycle everything possible including beverage containers, used oil, and food wrappers. We use no paper products, instead relying on reusable or recyclable materials.
Pacific Crest Snowcats offers backcountry education, and avalanche awareness class and always reserves some spaces for those who cannot afford to attend otherwise. These scholarships are available first to the local community. Feel free to contact us to be considered for these scholarships. Pacific Crest Snowcats also submits their snow stability data to the Sierra Avalanche Center to aid in the local forecasting for our community.
Additionally Pacific Crest Snowcats donates time, services, and money to many causes which we feel are important, these donations far exceed our annual profit figures. We do this because we feel that it is in the best interest of the planet and its inhabitants that a business, which by nature of doing business compounds the effects of that of a single person, makes every effort to preserve, protect, and enhance it's environment.
Here is a growing list of organizations that have benefited from the operations of Pacific Crest Snowcats. The following list is not inclusive, we are continuously working to find other ways to benefit our community both locally and worldwide.
Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue, our local volunteer rescue team Placer County Sheriff Search and Rescue, our local professional rescue team Sierra Avalanche Center, local area snow stability forecasts The Humane Society, puppies and kitties Boarding for Breast Cancer, breast cancer research Surfriders, water quality Local Elementary Schools, our future Local Ski Teams and Foundations, education and physical fitness International Women's Programs, bringing strength to women in the third world Skiing for Someone, inner city youth wilderness outings
In addition to these organizations that have benefited from our operations we continually strive for less impact. We understand that every business or activity effects the planet and it's inhabitants and it is our constant goal to reduce our effects, and balance our effects with positive momentum towards a better, healthier, and more enjoyable world.
Thank you for supporting Pacific Crest Snowcats, and our mission
to enhance the world, one powder turn at a time.
