Your health is our top priority, and we have put special measures in place to keep all guests safe both during and after your trip.

About Us

Pacific Crest Snowcats was formed by a small group of dedicated local backcountry skiers, former ski patrollers and veteran Alaska heli-ski guides looking to share the one-of-a-kind Sierra Nevada ski and snowboard experience found in their own backyard. The terrain now visited by our guests was originally responsible for inspiring the operation…and it will no doubt inspire you.

Situated on the North Shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, our operation is nestled beside the Pacific Crest itself—accounting for some of the deepest snowfall in the region. A day spent exploring the High Sierra backcountry with PCS offers the perfect complement to any Tahoe ski or snowboard vacation.

Relax and enjoy your day off piste in the hands of our professional guides—all of whom are first aid certified and highly trained in avalanche forecasting and control. With a maximum of just six guests per guide you are guaranteed personal attention. We’ll find the best snow conditions suited to your experience level and tailor the day to your desires.

With the best guides, gear, and safety practices in the industry at your disposal you can experience some of North America’s most advanced skiing and riding terrain with complete confidence. Since 2000, we’ve helped thousands of people discover the thrills of the backcountry—with a perfect safety record.

At Pacific Crest Snowcats we pride ourselves on what we believe are fair, friendly policies. But it is your responsibility to understand them fully prior to booking your trip. Thank you for taking the time to carefully review our policies and for your understanding in their enforcement.
